50 years of Chris
Dear friend of Hotel Chris, I am Cristiana.
You may not know this, but this year Chris is celebrating its 50th anniversary!

Our hotel's origins date back to 1974, and it is a family story, which is why I am sharing it with you.
The hotel was built by my father, who, as a young man, was not only a promising bartender but also a carpenter.
Here are some images of what the rooms looked like in the early 1980s. It seems like a lifetime ago!

And here he is, my father. In my memories (and in those of many tourists who have passed through here), he is often in his “kingdom”, the bar counter, serving coffee and drinks.
Back in the day, Romagna hoteliers had hospitality in their blood. Every day, my dad would laugh with the guests, share stories, and be the first to jump into the games that livened up the evenings at the hotel.
At the time, the evenings were filled with a playful spirit and a bit of ‘madness,’ as we say. Check out how much fun we had!

Chris isn't just my father's creation, but also my mother Fiorangela's. She has always been the “Queen of the Kitchen”, and many of the recipes we still serve at the hotel today were created by her and are strictly followed.
Here they are, in one of the many moments when, together, they made Chris a big family.
Like almost all children of hoteliers in Romagna, I grew up in a hotel. I spent my summers learning the job and making friends with the many children who came here on holiday.
Over the years, I learned to be Chris's “wild card”. I juggled between the bar, reception, dining room and kitchen. Ah... I almost forgot, on some special evenings I enjoyed singing for the guests. My performances at the piano bar amazed everyone, even my father.
Chris's story has also intertwined with the history of the Romagna Riviera. Here, for example, we're celebrating a special event, a really special one that we wanted to remember by making T-shirts that say “I was there”. It was our first Notte Rosa, the first of many wonderful editions.
When telling our story, we cannot fail to mention the people who have made each of these 50 years memorable: you!
Our guests, the families who have been coming back to visit us for decades.

Fifty years ago, the guests of Hotel Chris appeared in our family photo albums; today, they live on in our stories and social media, but the essence remains the same...
...you have always been, and will always remain, part of our history.

After this journey through our past, it’s time to say goodbye.
